And I found him again.
I have been very worried, Simsalabim has not shown up for two days! And that has never happened before! Simsalabim skipping meals? There must be something very wrong! I was on the point of making leaflets and start distributing them, when I had a brainwave… I have been in my garage two days ago, I did make sure I called the cats as I wanted to close the door, and yes: Kira came trotting out, she always comes to inspect the garage if I go there. But I hadn’t noticed Simsalabim coming too. And I waited and no other cats, so I closed the door.
You can imagine by now, that when I had my brainwave, and went to the garage late at night, after a few seconds a wholly distraught Simsalabim came jumping out!
He is soooo happy to be back! Safely in my arms….
I hope this will be a lesson for him….
Cats dont learn lessons…hence the whole 9 lives thing…cause lessons are definitely not learned. Better keep an eye on him for your hearts sake.
Poooooooooooor thing!
But they never learn! The same thing happened to my baby girl once, locked in the garage the whole night, terrible terrible thing! It’s me who actually learned a lesson and now before going to sleep I make sure they (boy&girl) are both safe indoors!
I’m so happy he’s back safe in your arms! Hug him for me pleaaaaase 🙂 🙂 🙂
I think cats do learn lessons. This lesson may not be one of them, however, as I am sure the garage is a very intriguing place for cats! I once lost a cat in a basement. By the time my brainwaves kicked in, it was too late.
I’m glad you found Simsalabim. He looks like a sweet cat, but don’t they all, when they are asleep? One can say the same thing about human men :).
Glad you found him! A lot better then what we went through with our cat. We thought she was dead… Found her dead on the side of the road, so we buried her… She showed up at the door the next day! Turned out we buried a cat with the exact same markings that she has. I think that scared a few years off of our lives though. 🙂
Our cat has started disappearing for hours as of late. He is 9 year old and sleeps more soundly now (even snores at times). We are constantly looking for him, but he eventually turns up by the door after getting his long naps at one of his many hiding spots outside the house.
I am glad Simsalabim is back safely.
Thank God he’s save! Maybe next time you should check for any living things left behind before closing shutters!
Btw I like the name, simsalabim. What’s the meaning? It sounds like a chorus tune I heard in a Tamil song!:P
Sorry for asking but who is Kira? Another cat,dog or rabbit?:D
Glad you found him! I wouldn’t have liked you to have lost your beloved Simsalabim.
I am glkad he’s back, and he is very happy to be back! I do think that, eventually, they will learn to come out when I call them….
Lat, Simsalabim is something a magician might say while doing a trick.
Achelois, no I wouldn’t have been glad at all.
Saudi in US, that must be very stressfull for you!
NdAppie, What a shocking story, but you got yor cat back…
Sure it isn’t her ghost?
Marahm, it really was suddenlhy in my brain: He could be in the garage!!
Tee, he has been having lots of hugs!
Coolred, hm for only two days I think this isn’t a lost life, but he has at least lost two by now!
I was very sad when Ishtar died and if you had lost Sims on my birthday I would have been distraught 😦 Well, it was a lucky day for all three of us it seems 😀
Pleased for you, and him, that he was found. They just don’t realize how much thwey worry us if they wander off. We’d be frantic if Dixie Doodle ever went missing

I would have gone nuts if I were you! Thank goodness this post has a happy resolution.
Glad he’s back! Trouble was “lost” once, but after an hour or so we found her inside the linen closet sleeping on some warm towels.
Achelois–I am having trouble accessing your blog (which now comes up as protected) even with a wordpress account. Is it just my computer?
@ Dennis the Vizsla,
You named your pet Trouble? Because she always gets you into trouble?
Ah… he’s so cute.
I heard somewhere cats never get lost once they know the house.
There was some problem with it Chiara but hopefully its resolved now.
Achelois–yes it is resolved now, thanks. I was having withdrawal symptoms.
Thanks Aafke for allowing this minor diversion, and I hope all members of your menagerie are well (Zora), found (Simsambalam) and behaving (Tarq)! 🙂
Bedu, I was very worried and unhappy.
Achelois: Happy birthday!
Chiara and Achelois, I did not allow anything of the kind!!!
You two just highjacked my blog!!! :x:
Ah 😦 , but we did it so nicely 🙂 , and in such a limited way
You must be upset though, I misspelled your cat’s name 😳 , which I now hasten to correct: Simsalabim 🙂
Wait! Whoa! Wait!!!!
You are a cat person and a dog person? Both at the same time???!
safiullahhussaini, Yep, I am a cat-, dog- and horse-person! 😉
Just call me safi! Dont mutilate my name! (Please? Pretty Please? Oh dont make me beg!)
Sorry safi 😳
Hey you really did nt have to change the misspelled name to the correct one! Makes me look stupid to plead for ‘a correction’! Hehe
Awww, poor kitty. Does Simsalabim ever give you the kind of look where he’s trying to say “you’re in my personal space”?
safiullahhussaini,
Sumera, both, Kira ànd Simsalabim do that all the time! especially when they are sitting on my chair.
😦
Its OK Chiara, because Aafke misspelled “Birthday”! 😀
But I am still 😦
misspelled what???
Freaky–who knew a blog mistress had such post ipso facto power
Hè, hè, hè….. I can even edit your posts Chiara, here I am the absolute queen!
I never doubted it for a minute!
LLOOLLL. I have been there, many times, worried about a cat that didn’t come home. One of my cats seems to have been shut in someone else’s garage from time to time . . . it is always such a relief when they return. Thank God your baby is safely home! 🙂
He was really happy and relieved to be released!
