About the flu

swineflu virus2

What is influenza?

There are three kinds of influenza virusses:
-type A usually the cause for outbreaks
-type B, linked to sporadic cases
-type C, rarely causes disease response

The Flu is a respiratory infection, connected with a fever, coughing, and muscle aches, which often lasts a few days. It affects about 20% of the world’s population. While the disease itself is usually harmless, it can carry a risk of viral or bacterial pneumonia, which can prove fatal, especially for the very young, elderly, or those in poor health. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention based in Atlanta, Georgia estimates that during the 1990s, about 36,000 people died each year of flu-related causes in the United States.
For comparison, the bird flu outbreak between 2007 and 2009 claimed about 100 deaths in total.

N’s and H’s

The surface membrane of the virus is spiked with two types of protein molecules: hemagglutinin (marked with letter “H“) and neuraminidase (marked with letter “N“).
Hemagglutinin molecules are used to bind the virus to a cell and inject its contents into it. Neuraminidase is a special enzyme which is required for viral infectivity and used to break the infected cell in order to release new viruses, which can spread infecting other cells.

The infuenza virus can change these N and H molecules, which is called antigenic shift.

For example, the swine flu which appeared in 1918 was named H1N1, while a later strain of influenza which was found to have changed its hemagglutinin molecules was named H2N1, and an even later influenza was found to have changed both its surface molecules (double antigenic shift), and was named H2N2. These changes are the result of an exchange of genetic materials between flu viruses originating from different sources. For instance, if a flu virus from a swine was mixed with a human flu virus, this could create a new strain that has swine-type hemagglutinin (H) and human-type neuraminidase (N). At this time there are four main Influenza A swine flu virus subtypes: H1N1, H1N2, H3N2 and H3 N1. However, the most recently isolated viruses from pigs have been of H1N1 subtype which was the cause of the original 1918 pandemic. The new flu strain is a combination of pig, bird and human viruses to which humans may have no natural immunity.

There are also frequent point mutations in the viral RNA and other changes that make up such a variety of flu strains. Such variations in the genetic composition of viruses usually occur after the population has built up immunities to the old strain.

This constant shifting of molecules and mutation in RNA, is the reason why a flu-vaccin usually doesn’t work the next year: the flu has mutated into another flu by that time. Which is also why you keep getting it: any flu which you have survived you are immune to, but the next time the flu comes around it probably has changed and so you get it again 😦

So what happens?

Viruses enter the respiratory tract and bind to the cells lining the lung airways. After entering the cell, the viruses use their genetic material, which is in the form of RNA, to transform the cellular machinery of the host cell to set up the production of new copies of viral genes. These genes combine with new viral proteins created in the host cell and then bud out of the cell as fresh viruses.

These newly produced viruses spread out causing infection of neighboring cells of the lung tissue. In order to spread they produce enzymes that destroy collagen and other components of the connective tissue surrounding all cells.

Fight influenza!

Inhibition of these enzymes, which is possible with the use of vitamin C, Lysine and other components of “nutrient synergy,” is very important for curtailing the spread of any viral infection in the body.

Currently there are two classes of drugs approved for the treatment and prevention of flu: the adamantanes (Amantadine and its derivative Rimantadine) and the newer neuraminidase (NA) inhibitors such as Oseltamivir and Zanamivir. Adamantanes interfere with viral processing inside a cell and are associated with severe toxic side effects and development of drug resistance. The most recent swine flu viruses isolated from humans are resistant to Adamantine and Rimantadine.

Neuramindase inhibitors are aimed at blocking the enzymatic function of neuraminidase thereby preventing release of the viruses from infected host cells. Neuraminidase inhibitors must be administered very early since the replication of influenza virus in the respiratory track reaches its peak after 24-72 hours after infection. However, the benefits of their use are not so evident. For instance Tamiflu (oseltamivir) may reduce illness by only 1-2 days, but at the same time it poses a risk of developing side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain in about 5% of patients. See previous post. Also, Tamiflu does not prevent or cure the flu – it can only slightly reduce its length or severity of symptoms.
Recent reports of its use in Japan, where Tamiflu prescriptions are ten times higher than in the US, reported bizarre psychiatric problems in children, even leading to death. More recently, the US FDA has recommended a new warning about possible dangerous psychiatric side effects of Tamiflu and Relenza. During the last winter flu season of 2007-2008, about 11% of flu cases were reported to be resistant to Tamiflu, with substantially higher incidence of resistance reported this fall for the most common circulating viral strain causing the flu.

Unfortunately, because of their synthetic nature it is difficult to find a drug which interferes with the biological processes of the virus and which does not also hurt the cell. This is why drugs always carry a risk of side effects, especially in immune challenged patients, particularly the very young, and the elderly suffering from other diseases and taking multiple medications at once.

Antibiotics, do not affect the flu or viral infections. They are often prescribed against secondary bacterial infections. Unnecessary use of antibiotics leads to the development of bacterial resistance, rendering them ineffective against many types of infections.

Vaccines, which trigger the body’s production of antibodies without actually causing the disease, are usually more productive, however, due to frequent genetic changes in the flu virus they are often ineffective for this problem.

Humans cannot produce vitamin C in their own bodies, vitamin C has been proven in many studies to inhibit the spread of virusses. You will need to take the vitamin in far larger doses as is usual in commercial vitamin pills.

The cure for swine flu (and Sars, and birdflu, and HIV)

8 08 2009

The current ”pandemic” of swineflu is hugely exaggerated by the global media. Actually I have been scanning what else is going on right now that needs to be covered up with a ”Deadly-Pandemic”-scare.  I’ll put it as simply as I can trying to keep it short. (I still recommend you make yourself a cuppa tea and sit down comfortably)

swineflu virus

  • N1H1 is the most common influenza
  • ”Swine-flu” is a recent mutation but still just a flu.
  • Virusses mutate all the time, all the time, nothing new.
  • You don’t die of swine flu but of complications, and only if you are weak or your health is compromised to start with
  • Influenza is to be taken serious, but swineflu is not more deadly than other flu’s
  • Tamiflu does not cure flu, it slightly alleviates symptoms and may shorten the disease by one day, but only if taken within 24 hours of being infected
  • Tamiflu can have very severe side-effects
  • Fluvirusses are allready becoming resistant to Tamiflu
  • replication of all virusses can be decreased or even completely blocked by ascorbic acid (vitamin C)
  • the pharmaceutical companies are lobbying very hard to keep this information from the public knowlege. Vitamins cannot be patented, and therefore cannot be used as a cashcrop.
  • Viral deseases are virtually unknown in the animal world, because most animals, except humans, produce high levels of vitamin C in their own bodies
  • Al virusses spread in the body by using the same enzymes (collagenases) which can be partially or completely blocked by means of the natural amino acid lysine. (also not produced by the human body)
  • The WHO, (World Health Organisation) does not prioritise human health, it doesn’t promote your health, it promotes the interests of the pharmaceutical investment interests

As virusses can be either slowed down consederably, or even blocked alltogether by ingesting large amounts of vitamin C, and other micronutrients, I wonder why I should bother with artificial expensive medicines, which do not stop the virus from spreading but merely alleviate some symptoms. And, according to many patients who have taken Tamiflu, the side-effects from Tamiflu have been far worse than the flu they suffered from before taking the Tamiflu.

Read how a virus uses the cells of the body to spread.
In this open letter dr Rath explains about natural (and cheap) protection from SARS. Hours later the WHO changed their own policy 180” and declared Sars under control.

All virusses use the same method to infiltrate the body. All Steps of Influenzopenletter_230306_pic1a Infection Can Be Blocked by Micronutrients:

1.Influenza virus gets inside the body cells with the help of the enzyme neuraminidase (N), which is located on the surface of the virus.

2.Within the infected cell, the virus reprogrammes the genetic software in the cell core to allow its own multiplication. The infected cell now continuously produces more viruses as well as the biological scissors (collagenases) for their spread.

3.Millions of viruses are released from infected cells. With the help of collagen-destroying enzymes, the viruses expand through the connective tissue and invade other cells. The influenza infection has turned into a disease.

So if Vitamin C, and other micro nutrients can stop this from happening, you are actually stopping the disease on it’s onset. You don’t get ill!
That seems to me a lot more effective than a slight alleviation of symptoms, with, as may people report spme very, very serious side effects which may even last long term.
Patients who take Tamiflu as a precaution only, so without having been infected, experience the same severe side-effects. In their cases the symptoms cannot be blamed on swine flu, as the manufacturer is trying to make out.  One patient, who had taken Tamiflu only as a precaution, so without being sick, not only suffered from side effects, but the doctors have told him he might now be suffering from auto immune disease!

A list of the side effects as reported by patients who have taken Tamiflu, some of these side effects started within hours or even minutes of taking their first dose. Some report these side effects lasting for many weeks after stopping taking the Tamiflu and still continuing. Most patients experience several of these side effects simultaniously.

  • nausea
  • delusions
  • nightmares
  • extreme stomach cramps
  • depression
  • suicidal thoughts
  • extreme fatigue
  • chills
  • swollen and painful joints
  • difficulties to breath
  • pressure on chest
  • feeling of doom
  • moodswings
  • high bloodpressure
  • high fever
  • heart palpitations
  • severe headache, with no alleviation from painkillers
  • skinrash
  • no appetite
  • upset stomach
  • disorientation
  • severe vomiting
  • crippling pain in legs
  • hives
  • anxiety, severe anxiety
  • insomnia
  • dry mouth
  • tingling and numbness in hands and feet
  • ”taste” of Tamiflu, recurring after many weeks
  • dhiarrhoea

Now not everybody will experience these, only a percentage, estimated at 5% will be the losers, but many of those who did suffer these sideffects were very sorry to have taken the drug at all, and considered the side effects many times worse as the flu they experienced before they took the drug.
I find the recent reports of its use in Japan very disturbing, in Japan Tamiflu prescriptions are ten times higher than in the US, the reports describe bizarre psychiatric problems in children, even leading to death.
I know I’m not going to take the risk, especially as Tamiflu is not a cure anyway.

Read this:

  • interesting article on how the SARS-epidemic was one large media stunt to devert attention from the war in Iraq and the use of weapons of mass destruction, by a fully media-controlled global scare for SARS. After dr Rath publicised his report on the efficacy of vitamin C and other nutrients on combatting the disease, the WHO made an immediate 180” turn around, and proclaimed the disease under control.

After having launched one of the largest media stunts in the history of planet earth, the pharmaceutical cartel and its allies within the WHO had to withdraw it within hours of Dr. Rath calling their bluff.

Dr. Rath comments: “I have been fighting the pharmaceutical cartel for more than a decade now, but this success overshadows everything. The pharmaceutical interest groups – ex-posed as conducting an organized fraud business that risks the life of millions of people and drains the economies of this planet – are apparently extremely nervous. There can be no other reason why they reacted so fast following my exposure that the pharmaceutical cartel is the organizer and benefactor of this man made hysteria. This fact should open the eyes of every intelligent person: How scared must they be if $30,000 in public health advertising is all it takes to stop an epidemic that has been dominating the news around the world.”

My natural beauty

27 07 2009

You may wonder why I have moved from being all evil and wicked into the realms of ”happy news”, ”kittens” and white dresses.
This is because I have seen the light!
I want to share my beautiful thoughts, my fragility and natural sweetness.
In order to remain delightful, adorable and attractive to my chosen dreamrabbit, I decided I needed to get rid of all these dangerous opinions of my own, so unbecoming to the natural simplicity of women. We women need to realise our limits.
I understand that now…

I want to share this enlightening and informative clip

44 good sunnah rules to follow

21 07 2009

This post is a follow-up to the post Sunni salafis, camels and cars , and also apposite to the post on Bedu.

Sunnah is following what the prophet did, it is a good thing for a muslim to try and learn from the prophets life. However, it appears that a very large part of the prophet’s sunnah is completely forgotten.
Or ignored.
What is sunnah can be determined by studying the life of the prophet, the hadith. And there are many instances of worthwhile behaviour to follow in these stories, and sometimes they contradict the quran. ”Think for yourself” is what pops into my mind.
The problem is that I see a lot of cherry-picking going on. And when it comes to women the many positive sunnah are completely ignored and the negative ones hailed as a command from God. Modern muslims even habitually indulge in this, and in KSA they have laws which contradict the example of the prophet almost categorically. And don’t underestimate this: Saudi Arabia is after all the country where the two holy mosques are situated and for that single reason many muslims look at KSA as an example.
I will provide a list of important stuff I got out of reading the Quran and hadith which for some reason I do not see followed, especially not by those who claim to be perfectly following the sunnah,
This is also sunnah:

  1. Women conduct business
  2. Women own big international businesses
  3. women have honour and dignity equal to men
  4. men are employed by women and have no problems following their orders
  5. women are trusted
  6. be married to one woman and stay faithful to her
  7. go to your wife for advice and follow it
  8. women make their own decisions about their own lives
  9. women propose to men for marriage
  10. women choose whom they want to marry
  11. women put into their marriage contract that they don’t want their husband to marry more wives. Men keep to that promise
  12. women don’t pay back their mahr if they instigate divorce
  13. women ride/drive their own means of transport
  14. Women and men divorce if they are totally unhappy and marry again without having stigma’s attached to them
  15. Men marry divorcees, or widows with children and treat them well
  16. men marry  women who are older then they are
  17. women don’t have to be virgins to be regarded with respect and desired as good marriage partner
  18. women fight in battles
  19. women lead armies in the battlefield
  20. men help women in their household chores
  21. men clean their own clothes, milk their own sheep, and do their own chores
  22. answer an insult with a humurous remark instead of chopping heads off or burn stuff
  23. men treat women with respect and never, ever, ever, beat them
  24. women go out where they want, whenever they want
  25. give water to a starving dog (and get a free ticket to heaven)
  26. own a dog
  27. let your dog eat out of your own soup bowl then clean it well afterwards
  28. own a cat
  29. don’t disturb sleeping cats
  30. be kind and considerate to animals, all animals
  31. men and women pray together in the mosque
  32. men and women attend seminars and discuss stuff (together)
  33. people who have sinned but have truly repented will not be punished
  34. actions are but intentions, and this is between you and God. humans cannot see what’s in other humans hearts and minds
  35. when you smile it is charity
  36. laugh often, smile much
  37. have fun, make lots of jokes
  38. you can sing
  39. a muslim woman can ask for her intended husband to convert to islam as her mahr
  40. everybody in the Ummah (community, ummah al-Dawrah) is equal, regardless of their race, colour or origin
  41. be kind and indulgant to children, the prophet used to even shorten the prayer when he heard a child cry
  42. love overcomes hatred, forgiveness overcomes agression
  43. speak a good word, or else be silent
  44. Moderation in all: charity, eating, dressing and worship. Avoid extremes.

Witch-hunters: a list of warning signs

12 12 2008

I have been mulling this over a long time, all those religious weirdos… what sends them ticking? With the recent commotion one of Bedu’s posts, it has again become abundantly clear that, although following the same religion, different people can have almost opposite opinions. I used sometimes to think religions make people nuts, or some religions are more insane as others… But that is not really the point.

It’s the humans!
I’m convinced there is a certain percentage of the human species who are not actually certifiable, but definitely wacko in a specific way. Religion has nothing to do with it, religion is a handy handle and holds a particular attraction for this percentage of deranged nutters.

On the whole I don’t mind what people do, they can be as deranged as they like, as long as you don’t hurt others. But that is exactly the point: these kind of lunatics are the ones responsible for the greatest evils committed on the planet. I don’t believe in the devil, or demons, or jinn, or ”the evil eye”. We have no need of them, we as humans can breed and spread more evil than is imaginable. Evil starts in the mind of those who have no real feelings, no empathy for the suffering of others, who think they are above the rest of humanity, and who can see only a very small portion of the world.

It’s these kind of humans who end up as nazi-camp-guards, witch-hunters and those who brainwash and send out suicide-bombers.
So I’ll call them ”witch-hunters” for the rest of this article. They are the ones who can easily live with causing innumerable deaths and sufferings, because ”God wants it” ”It’s all for the cause”, ”Some people will have to be sacrificed” and ”I only followed orders”

I am not kidding, I think we, the ”normal” part of humanity are not aware enough how evil will escalate if such deranged people are given any power. We should be ever vigilant not to let the soulless witch-hunters get any foothold. I don’t mean get rid of them, but they should be kept on a short leash.
We know how many millions the nazi’s killed, The medieval witch-hunts are estimated to have cost millions of deaths, mainly women. This is evil on an un-imaginable scale!

Ok, how to recognise a potentially dangerous witch-hunter:
I have noticed an astounding list of similarities, no matter what the religion (or atheïsm) these people are attracted too, which makes me think there is something in the mindset rather than religion as such. They all show the same symptoms, use the same expressions, the same language.
A witch hunter will show several of the following symptoms:

  • A witch hunter likes to follow an absolute ideology
  • At some point they ”have seen the light” they become ”Born Again Christians” or ”Revert Salafi Muslims”, ”Neo-Nazi’s” or, in rare cases; ”Absolute Atheists”
  • They may have had a very wild past which they now need to wipe out by going to the other extreme.
  • Once they have decided on the ideology to follow they immerse themselves completely, but not in a spiritual sense, they are completely obsessed with texts, and follow those texts to the letter
  • If a text needs explaining they do so in the most absolute and unpleasant manner
  • They don’t like women, even if they are women themselves. Women get harsher, more strict rules to live by, more dress restrictions, and more severe punishments.
  • They show no real compassion to others outside their circle, moreover, all rules of decency and correct behaviour don’t count for anybody outside their own circle.
  • they congregate in these little ”circles” or ”covens” and strengthen each other in their vanity, screwed perceptions and callousness.
  • they never stop to contemplate ”meaning”, ”substance” or ”intention”, they feel safe when only looking at the most superficial adherence of texts
  • They prefer to listen to scholars, and read little books full of explanations of their religious texts, rather than read their original books for themselves and come to a deep understanding.
  • When they have absorbed enough text, the start slapping other people around the head with their knowledge, for every occasion they can produce an appropriate text.
  • They get incredibly vain about their knowledge, and can never express themselves succinctly, but always make veeeeery looooong and booooring statements.
  • ”They know better”. Better than God or whatever prophet is applicable.
They do. At the very least they are perfectly in the know about what God likes or doesn’t like in any and all situations. They keep going on about how God would not approve of railways, or how God does not approve of dating, God does not approve of women, or how God does not like dogs (both created by God to be such sweet, loyal and loving creatures, but hey, God still doesn’t like them!)
  • They delight in suffering.
No, really. They get off on suffering, they will always find ways to make life miserable for themselves. For some reason they are convinced that God won’t love them if they actually enjoy living in God’s creation. They think God wants you to suffer.
  • When they are safely ensconced into a thoroughly unpleasant lifestyle themselves, they start looking around them and start insisting others must suffer too!
I suppose it’s no fun to suffer yourself, and see other people having a lot of fun. And anyway they always are more severe and started suffering earlier, so they can still feel superior. But all that fun and enjoyment has to go!
  • If other people are not keen on following their example, they start threatening with hell-fire. They say stuff like ”You will burn in hell” if you: date/don’t cover/work/don’t work/use birthcontrol/listen to music/dance/sport/say ”no” to your husband/have a boy/girl-friend/own a dog/read/have your own opinions/think, etc.
  • People not belonging to the ”righteous” group can be made to suffer, it doesn’t matter.
  • They loooove to be able to find fault in others
  • They loooove to denounce non-conformists to the authorities, if they have the good fortune to live in a country where the authorities are corrupted in evil.
  • They are totally obsessed with sex, in an unhealthy manner. It’s like their every second thought is about sex. They see sex everywhere, in any circumstances, any actions, meetings, whatever, everything is connected with some sexual action in their minds. If they want to hurt anybody, commenting at your sexual life/preferences/practises is a standard practise.
  • They are completely blind and deaf towards anything, anything at all, which doesn’t conform to their particular view of the world. That view is severely limited, they walk around with blinders on their head, hearing nothing, seeing nothing which doesn’t accord with what they want to see.
  • On the other hand, they also like to put forward an extremely biased and twisted representation of the life/country of other people, always extremely negative, and replete with deviant sexual practises.
  • I suppose I don’t need to add that it is impossible, as an outsider, to discuss anything with these people, they don’t discuss, they are always right, and they denounce anything they don’t like as the devil’s work, and you as the devil’s minion and there’s the end to another discussion. No discussions. At all.

A few examples:
The evangelists who ring your doorbell carrying a bible with notched leaves so they can always slap you in the face with a bible passage. It’s incredible, there is no normal conversation possible with these people, any sentence you can utter will be countered with a passage from ”the book”

Veiling: Women veil ”because God wants you to be modestly dressed” If and to what extend a woman chooses to veil, is between her and God. In reality. But not to the witch-hunters: veiling up to the most unhealty extremes is a requirement: if you don’t submit you go to hell.  To the with-hunters veiling is between other women and them! They choose to interpret modest dress not as covering from the chest to the knees, but to be covered completely in black drapes. Because this way you can ”Express yourself as an individual and not as a sexobject”

Yeah, right.
What it actually means that the world (and the child) is made very aware that any girl from about 11 years onward is a sexual object and therefore needs to be covered from the eyes of men. Thereby proclaiming insistently: Sexual object passing by!
And we all know how that works out: I’ve heard from Saudi women how they can’t even do their household shopping with toddler in one hand and a shopping bag in the other, fully veiled, and they are still harassed regularly in a manner which would get the perpetrator arrested in the ”Decadent West”

Giving ”Good Advice”: It takes some courage, to go and tell people you think they could do better on some points. It takes diplomacy and a loving heart to do so without antagonising your subject.

Witch hunters have no diplomacy and certainly no loving hearts, they give ”good advice” to show off how much better they are, how they alone know what is right, how much better they are as humans, and the usually manage to put in something to let you know how sub-human you are, and how you are on a downward elevator to hell.

Witch hunters only show concern towards their own members. They are devoid of feelings or empathy as soon as they consider somebody as a ”heretic”, or ”unbeliever”.

Anybody outside the ”righteous” is an outcast, they can be tortured, burned, whatever. This may even be desirable to ”cleanse” the community/land/planet of independent thinkers.

So I can only hope there will remain enough independent thinkers to keep some freedom of thoughts and expression going. And I hope I have made it clear that we should make sure we will not get overruled by anybody without heart soul and compassion.

Why God created pets

11 12 2008

Naturally that is a retorical question, everybody with an ounce of intellect knows why God created pets.

God created pets so we know what true honesty loyalty and devotion looks like.

God created pets so we can experience true friendship

God created pets so that we won’t be alone

God created pets so we are kept warm

God created pets so we will never be bored because we will have to spend our days getting rid of all the hairs

Most of all, God has created pets to make us realise what we deserve in a human companion as well: somebody who doesn’t lie to us, somebody who is faithful to us, somebody who doesn’t forget us, somebody who keeps us warm, somebody who cares, somebody who will support us, somebody who will love us, no matter what.
Now I do realise it is too much to expect the same high level from a human, but something reasonably close is what I am still hoping for.
Everybody: in your search for a dreamrabbit, don’t settle for anything less!

Clouddragon’s ultimate dating guide

8 12 2008

Dating is hot right now in blogsphere! Check out American Bedu’s heretic post on Saudi dating! Bedu’s controversial honesty in naming things as they are, has resulted in some pretty hot comments, including several spin offs on other blogs ranging from the ”This haram hussy will burn in hell for all the fitnah she is causing”, to Hning’s even more haram post: ”Extreme Saudi Girls’ Dating Guide”. Starting with: ”Bring a condom” Sheesh!

So, my own personal view on dating. I think it’s very important when setting out to make clear to yourself what your own intensions and wishes are, do you just want a bit of fun? Or are you looking for your soulmate? Your dreamrabbit?

This is very personal and different for everybody of course, so I will publish my list of standards as an example. I think it’s really important to set the level for yourself, and what you will, or will not tolerate. This should reflect what you stand for and what you believe in.

  • I want a serious long term relationship
  • no drinking, drugs, or anything else which makes me uncomfortable
  • I want a man I can completely trust and give my love to freely
  • he must be, and show it by his actions, a good kind loving person
  • I will not settle for anything less than the real deal, a real first class soulmate
  • I will not hang around if a man makes me feel bad, unhappy, uncomfortable. Not for any reason, any excuse. If a man makes me feel bad in any way, I am gone!

Not too much to ask for is it?
Apparently it is, recently I have had to add a few guidelines for myself. Now these are guidelines every woman should take to heart, because if a man does not stand up to these guidelines, there is something seriously wrong, and you are not only hurting yourself, and wasting your valuable time, but shutting yourself off, and you might miss the real soulmate when he passes by!

Warning signs guidelines:

  1. Be careful if the relationship starts off like a rocket, and he seems ”too good to be true”
  2. Do not date a man who does not want to talk about the future
  3. Do not date a man who does not keep his word
  4. Do not date a man if you can’t find conclusive proof he is ”available” aka not married
  5. Do not date a man who ”is too busy for you right now”
  6. Do not date a man who keeps you waiting by the phone
  7. Do not date a man who is not willing to meet or date with you
  8. Do not date a man who’s unwilling to supply you with proof to back up his statements

  1. It is quite possible he really is too good to be true, but you are already too boiled over by your good luck, and his beautiful words to see clearly!
  2. When a man does not want to talk about the future he is not interested in a future with you. So if you’re goal is to find out if this particular bloke is a possible future soulmate, then you should be able to talk about the future with him. If not, stop waisting your time!
  3. Need I say more? A man who does not keep his word is waste material, and unworthy of you!
  4. The first aspect of life a dishonest man likes to lie about is his ”availabillity”. You are the one putting yourself most at risk, you have every right to ask him to provide proof. If he doesn’t want to give you proof? Stop waisting your time and heart.
  5. He is ”busy”, he has ”important appointments”, ”his work is devouring him”, etc. All very well, but what he’s really saying is: ”You are way down my list, I can only give you the scraps of time that are left after I did all the really important stuff on my list”. If you are satisfied with being at the bottom of the list after: work, sports, hanging out with friends, etc. fine, keep going. If not, get out!
  6. If he promises to ”call you tonight” and he doesn’t, you are immediately prone to think up all kinds of excuses, but get real: with modern phones, there is no excuse for not calling you when he promised! It’s no big deal, you might think… Well, think again, it is a big deal! If you met him on-line, his only chance to proof to you how honest and reliable and careful for your well-being he is, is by giving you that friggin’ call! If he can’t even bother that much, get out!
To promise to call, or be on-line tonight, and then call or mail you three days later amounts to mental abuse. Don’t hang around for it!
  7. Once you meet somebody on-line, and you are starting to get really deeply involved, and he claims the same, set up a meeting. If you care so much you are willing to spend time money and effort to meet and he can’t be bothered? ”To busy”, ”No time”, ”Not yet”, ”Am going on a holiday”, etc. Take the hint: he doesn’t want to meet you! Why? You can bet there’s something fishy: Get out of the water!
  8. Speaks for itself. You have the right to guard yourself, any refusal to provide you, the ”Love of his life”, with credentials can mean only one thing: he doesn’t have any.

Especially as we now often meet people through the internet it is very important to add a few extra guidelines.
And always, always, listen to your intuition! If your intuition sends a bell ringing, listen well!

Here is a really interesting list of words and translations, from a book (written by a man) of man-speak

1-The word. 2-What it should mean. 3- What it sometimes means

  • 1-I love you 2- I love you with every fiber of my soul 3-I need some amusement, but for the rest I’m just not that much into you.

There are some signs of which you should be beware in a new relationship:

The first is information control: If your partner knows far more about you than you know about him, there’s a chance there’s a hidden agenda in play.
Another sign is the presence of a lot of “impression management” — you have an idea of what your partner is like, but you’ve never really had any of the information verified.
A third sign, deceptive relationships usually take off like a rocket … like love at first sight, if you know what I mean.
Another sign is all the “tending and narrowing” that takes place in the relationship. Liars want to keep their partners on a short leash — out of contact with the real world — out of contact with people who might know the truth.

Finally, a very strong sign that you’re mixed up with a liar is that your intuition will eventually signal you. That’s just the way it usually works.

It is really important to have a check-list like this, because we women are so apt to put our own interests aside, and start ”making sacrifices”. Another really big mental defect in the dating-game is honesty. If you yourself are honest, and true, and even worse, combined with a genuine desire to please others, than you are in a big disadvantage when the deceivers knock at your door. Most of us are raised with a ”truth-bias” we are brought up to be honest, we expect others to be honest, and it seems really weird and impolite to ask the other party for some proof.

and let’s not forget our most valuable defense while looking for a

And to keep us from ending up with a

is our instinct, our intuition! Our societies and cultures have biased us against listening to our intuition, whenever you bring it up you get ridiculed. Don’t listen to them, listen to your intuition, every time my intuition warned me and I ignored it, I found out later I should have listened! Intuition is nothing magical, it’s just our subconscious supplying us with a ready conclusion worked out by information available in the dark recesses of our brain where our conscious doesn’t look.

Always listen to that little warning bell, that little voice inside your head. I don’t mean throw everything overboard immediately, but acknowledge it, and take it for what it is: you own mind telling you it is time to search for proof, for security, in your own interest.
I’m not stupid, I know there are many people running around who are totally selfish, and have no hearts, no care for the suffering of others. Yet time and time again I keep being duped because again and again I think, ”But they can’t be lying about this? They can’t be that bad?”
Guess what? They are…

Einstein Wisdom

31 01 2008

I love these thirty quotes of Einstein, he is regarded as a genius, but this shows that his genius is not confined to science alone. There is too much emphasis nowadays on putting everything into isolated categories. This is a mistake: everything is interconnected, and should be balanced.

These quotes of Einstein illustrate that genius in science can, and should be, combined with insight, humour, religion, and humanity.

Actually, for me this puts most of the professional philosophers to shame. 🙂

  1. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.”
  2. “I, at any rate, am convinced that He (God) does not throw dice.”
  3. “The important thing is not to stop questioning; curiosity has its own reason for existing.”
  4. “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”
  5. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.”
  6. Falling in love is not at all the most stupid thing that people do — but gravitation cannot be held responsible for it.”
  7. “The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science.”
  8. “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”
  9. “Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value”
  10. “The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.”
  11. “The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.”
  12. “Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character.”
  13. “Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.”
  14. “Nature shows us only the tail of the lion. But I do not doubt that the lion belongs to it even though he cannot at once reveal himself because of his enormous size.”
  15. “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.”
  16. Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.”
  17. “It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.”
  18. “My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.”
  19. “Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding.”
  20. “I never think of the future. It comes soon enough.”
  21. “Do not worry about your difficulties in mathematics, I can assure you that mine are all greater”
  22. In order to form an immaculate member of a flock of sheep one must, above all, be a sheep.”
  23. “The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is comprehensible.”
  24. “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”
  25. “Truth is what stands the test of experience.”
  26. “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving”
  27. “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
  28. “Human knowledge and skills alone cannot lead humanity to a happy and dignified life. Humanity has every reason to place the proclaimers of high moral standards and values above the discoverers of objective truth.”
  29. “Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions.”
  30. “Common sense is nothing more than a deposit of prejudices laid down by the mind before you reach eighteen.”
