The best times of your live have not yet been lived

17 08 2008

Was the message I got from my fortune cookie today!
That’s nice! Not that my life hasn’t been pretty crap the last few years, so that can’t be difficult to achieve, but, on the other hand my weekend was supercallifragilisticexpialidocious! I have just been at the most fantastic concert yesterday, and such a beautiful ride today… 😀

What can get better?
Three things:

  • Tarq will get over his phobias for: stones, white watercontainers, birds, alarming dogs, flowers with suspicious colours, hazardous small puddles, terrifying noises, spooky tree-stumps, sinister branches, dubious pieces of plastic, disturbing bridges, people picking black-berries, trailers, tractors, forest-trolls, water-dragons, sabertoothed tigers, etc.
  • I’m going to get a cool job (with good pay)
  • I will meet my dream-rabbit ( please send applications for clouddragon, to the mail-adress here )

Yihaaa! Excellent!!!!
And all about the super-excellent concert tomorrow when I have my photos developed! 😀

Aafke,

I love your wishes. Very simple and not selfish.

Look no more for number 3. I found your dream rabbit, worthy of nerd heaven

The question is can s/he blog also?

Saudi in US: Moi? I am never selfish!
Wooehaha! I can’t believe it! It’s just like the real rabbit I used to have and loved: Cosmic Ears!
Naturally such a nerdy rabbit will have his own blog!!!!

Hey i lived my childhood with the series of books that one of those series were stories by Beatrix Potter. Esp that Peter Rabbit one. 😛

If Tarq is no longer afraid of all those things, doesn’t that mean he’ll no longer be a horse? 😉

Is that a clip from Watership Down?

All this talk of bunnies/ rabbits reminds me: what’s the difference between an Easter Bunny and a well rested blogger?

People still believe in the myth of the Easter Bunny. 😉

Okay, i know that was totally off topic here, but seeing Shahrzad’s comment, i was just tempted into relating this.

Don’t mind me then, I’m off to blurk again. *sigh* Leaving good comments is totally beyond me, it is.

I so enjoyed your post and it reminded me of something a little naughty but also fun… had you ever enjoyed a Chinese dinner with friends and everyone had to read their fortune cookie out loud….except always after the original fortune, one had to add the line “in bed.” It certainly would put a new context on all the fortunes!

That IS a clip from Watership Down – that movie made me cry so much as a kid. I was at a friend’s place recently and she said she’d bought her four year old daughter a new DVD – “It’s so cute, it’s about bunnies!” I was like, “Holy crap, are you sure you wanna show her that? You’re going to get a lot of questions about DEATH.” She had no idea. “How can it be scary? It’s bunnies!” Then halfway through she and daughter are in tears on the sofa. But I remember my response being exactly the same. And she and her daughter are really close, and her daughter is spectacularly clever and brilliant and well adjusted, so it was fine. But man, that movie left me traumatised.

I was pretty lucky with Zac – he was more or less phobia free 😀

Shahz: Hmm, Oktober isn’t assured! Chill! Yes, I like the programme too! 😀
I loved Peter Rabbit! And Jemima Puddleduck. I have been to the house of Beatrix Potter 🙂 It was very interesting, and there were busloads of Japanese! Apparently all the Japanese grow up with Peter Rabbit and they come in droves to view Beatrix’s Potter’s house!

James: yes, and yes

Specs! That is an excellent comment! Woehahaha! Just as I’m trying to conceal the black rings underneath my eyes!!!!! And every night I tell myself: now close that notebook! Go to bed on time one day in the week! Haven´t made it yet…

YES! Bedu! Just the tiny detail my fortune needed!!!!! 😉
The best times of my live have not been lived yet in bed ! (not that that is a difficult one to improve either )

Colloquielle: I agree, Watership Down is not a children´s book, nor is the movie suitable for little kids, And yes, it made a big impact and caused lots of tears in me too. I did have a small crush on Hazel.
But the term *dreamrabbit* stems from P.G.Woodhouse 🙂

It´s the same with *His Dark Materials* defenitely not for children, at the most very developed teenagers.

Zac sounds like a perfect horse, a horse doesn´t need all these phobias.
On the other hand, I can feel secure that if we ever do meet a sabertoothed tiger, I consider the chance that we will get eaten pretty mininmal.

Well that’s got to be a relief – I hear there’s a few left in the Netherlands 😀 Zac was far from perfect but he was wickedly funny. He just had different ways of trying to kill me 😉 Although how do you not give your heart to a horse who turns taps on to drink, rather than drink from the trough, then turns the tap off again?

Ok, that’s eleven out of ten for mega-cool!!!!!

I had no idea horses could be so neurotic. Granted, I know very little about horses, except what I learned from Mr. Ed and Seabuiscut.

He used to follow me up stairs, too, and play tag. And if he was lying down in his paddock, I could walk up to him and sit down, and he’d put his head in my lap and go back to sleep. He was pretty special 😉

I’m a bit surprised that you didn’t wish for Tony to start another blog… 😉

(Gotta admit ya miss him!)

Lofter, yeah, I miss him! But what I want the most is for him to be happy! Including dealing with his blog 🙂

Colloquielle, yeah, yeah, okeeee, your horse is cooler than mine…..

Heheh of course he isn’t – they’re all totally cool in their own way. He sure was a character though. They’re all cool in their own funny ways 🙂 🙂 I got him when he was so young.. nobody had done anything with him so I was his Mum, to all intents and purposes. And he bonded with me like he would with a dam. It made for some funny stuff (I got in trouble once because he followed me into the house when I went to answer the phone). But 5am on a cold morning, sitting there on the ground, leaning against his chest with his head on my lap? Was one of the most peaceful moments in my life 🙂

Haleem

I can see American Bedu has beat me to the “in bed” part .. haha I always get a kick out of that.

Although recently most of the Chinese cookies I am encountering don’t have fortunes at all – they have sayings. It’s more of a statement cookie. Like “A smile is worth twice a frown” what the hell does that mean…

Aafke

I’m keeping the ”in bed” fun for my birthday, when I will get fortubne cookies for my guests on purpose!

I have had the same! Boring sayings! This is the first time in a long time I had a real fortune!
Well, Haleem, looking back at your last post… I’m sure you know what it means!
