Beautiful angel of death

But not painted by me, but by a guy called Carlos Schwabe. As Shahrzad mentioned: the angel of death should be beautiful.

I always really liked this one as a kid.

And the really cute Death, according to the writer Neil Gaiman.

Lovely indeed, as it should be, since the Angel of Death is really the Angel of Mercy:

I’ve always been intrigued by people’s fixation on death being such a horrible thing. Why? If you are a person of faith, death is merely the door through which you pass to enter a better place. I think Tecumseh had it right when he said, “When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.”

You can clearly see that this Angel of Death cares for you and will guard your soul to its destination.
This painter made some very strange paintings.

Lofter: I agree with Tecumseh: that’s the way to go!

Darvish: I had already read that post! I like it very much (as always) and I now noticed the end better: Azrael is right.

According to one of my many tattoos the angel of death doesn’t look like that, he’s the Grim Reaper guy. Surely Mr. Tattoo Guy whom I trusted completely, wouldn’t have permanently disfigured me for life with a product of mere fiction….

The only Tecumseh I ever heard of was a brand of lawn mower engine, Just goes to show how cultured I really am not 🙂
