Rising water

We have been having a lot of rain and stormy weather. The water level has risen so much that several villages and surrounding countryside have been evacuated.

Not only is the water level very high, in this photo you seehow low the villages are compared to the canal. The dike of this canal is so saturated with water that it is now leaking and it could break down. A large part of the countryside would be flooded within a few hours if that would happen.

Some farmers have refused to leave and abandon their animals. There are now plans to evacuate the animals as well.

I brought this perfume when we were visiting New Orleans. Yummm, it’s a very elegant deep, somewhat sweet and spicy perfume.

By Dana. This old fragrance is not well known in the Netherlands, certainly nobody has the ”old lady” association with it over here. Tabu was formulated in 1924, it was designed to be utterly seductive. The femme fatale would smell like this. Tabu is spicy, there’s a lot of patchouli and an animalic note in the drydown. On my skin it’s also powdery and soft, and sometimes I get a citrus note in the drydown. That’s very unusual.
It’s warmth and spicyness make it ideal for the time of the year and I have been wearing it since Monday.

I actually have gotten compliments on this!

Excellent lecture

Take some time to look at this lecture. I am on the point of moving to America, one of the very few countries who still mass-medicate their population with the neuro-toxin Fluoride. Fluoride decreases the IQ of a population with 10%. Besides other bad effects on your health. Something to think about.
Oh, and taking in fluoride does not improve your teeth.

These are only the first three, but you really should see them all.

This is a sad day for humanity

These are big words, but they are true. I am really sad because today I heard that Christopher Hitchens died.
Christopher Hitchins was a man of great feeling, great compassion, great feeling, great intellect, a debater, a great writer, a great humanitarian, the owner of a great sense of humor.
In short, he was a great man.

Christopher, or Hitchins, or Hitch, has been a great influence for good for many people. He was a prolific writer and intrepid journalist, who has never taking anything back in expressing his opinions, whether it was on Politics, dismantling the fake myth of Mother Theresa, or battling the evil of religion. I consider him the greatest debater of our time, and his worldwide admired accent makes listening to his arguments and book readings extra enjoyable. His brilliant retorts to the most aggressive, stupid or silly opponents has resulted in a new word for the English language, the ”Hitchslap”.

Christopher has written a long list of books on many different subjects, they are all good, but for the last part of his life he was engaged in battling the evil of religion, he can say it much better than I can:

The world has lost a great man.

Today I am wearing Encre Noir, by Lalique.

Green, green, greener than green, vetiver with a darkness lurking behind. It’s marketed for men but who cares? It goes very well with Eau de Cheval.
